Field Trip to the East Texas Arboretum

We went on a Field Trip to the East Texas Arboretum with our homeschool group. My Mom is in charge of all the field trips. Anyway, the field trip turned out to be a lot of fun! At the Arboretum, there is a really old house, known as Wofford House. It was built in 1850, and we got to tour it!! We also got to tour the gardens and walk the hiking trails. There were some really pretty flowers...
A tiger Lily

A Californian Poppy

The pictures below are of Wofford House.

I did NOT take this picture -It is from  http://www.eastexasarboretum.org/images/wofford_house_in_evening.jpg.

The parlor
The men's smoking room
We also got to see Pitcher Plant bog, where the pitcher plants grow. There weren't many growing  but our guide said there will be a lot more soon. Then we headed back up the trail and took some more pictures....
