What is Labor Day?

Tommorow is Labor day, and so I was wondering,"What is Labor Day? Why do we celebrate it?" Well, the Central Labor Union started the first event as a demonstration. It was supposed to be a holiday that celebrated the working person, and his/ her contributions to the world. It was started in 1883 (or 1882- different books and websites said different things!)in New York, and it wasn't long before other states celebrated it.Tommorow is also my Dad's birthday! Happy Birthday,Dad!

    wow your dads birthday is on labor day. thats cool! i was thinking the same thing what is labor day and now i now a little bit about it!
