What I'm learning in our Homeschool

I am learning about this in school, so I am going to post about it. It is sad, but part of America's history. This book is really good if you want to learn more about it.

A Short Essay on J.F.K's Assassination.
                                                       by Laura Ashley
On Nov.22,1963,John and Jacqueline Kennedy stepped of a plane at Love Field in Dallas,Texas. They were greeted enthusiastically by Gov.Connally and cheering crowds. Jackie and Lady Bird(the vice president's wife) were presented bouquets of roses. Then they got into limousines to proceed to the Trade Mart. It was such a beautiful day the President hadn't wanted to use the limo's bubble top. Jackie had just told John"You can't say Dallas wasn't friendly to you!"when three shots were fired from the 6th floor window of the Texas School Book Depository. Two hit the President in the head and throat, and one hit Gov.Connally. The limousine raced to Parkland Memorial Hospital, but it was too late. John Fitzgerald Kennedy,  was declared dead at 1:00 p.m central time. The Dallas police arrested Lee Harvey Oswald, and stated that he did kill the President. While millions of Americans watched on T.V, Jack Ruby, a night club owner, stepped from a crowd of reporters and shot Oswald. Though the President no longer lives, his legacy still lives on through the Peace Corps, The Space Race, and other programs he started.
